One of the best things about working on a magazine is that the product is constantly evolving and improving. I look back at the issues I have worked on for the past twelve years and am proud of how each issue builds on the one before. Authors change, staff has come and gone, and the magazine continues to evolve because of it.
We have a new contributor starting in the March/April issue. Sandra Reddell has joined the team to articles explaining her stitch and technique choices with working on a design. I met Sandra through the American Needlepoint Guild where she taught for many years. She was best known for her realistic animal designs. No one can stitch fur like Sandra! Be sure to look for her articles. I think you will learn a lot from her.
On another note, I am sorry to report that we are going to have a price increase. It is the first one in three years. Our paper and postage prices are always rising and they have gotten to the point where we can no longer absorb the increased cost. With the supply chain problems, it has become difficult to buy paper, but our printer has secured enough that we should be fine until the paper mills recover from the pandemic. The new price per year will go from $46 to $51 for domestic and $90 to $100 for two years. Our international price will go from $63 to $70 for one year and $118 to $138 for two. The price change will start with the May / June 2022 Issue. (New prices will not effect current subscriptions or subscriptions purchased before this issue)
The March/April issue should be in your mailboxes in the next few weeks. I hope you enjoy it as much as we enjoyed putting it together for you.
Until next time,
Magazine publisher, Out!
