A Tale Of Two Cities Needlepoint Tour of London & Paris – Moved to April 2021


Jeremy and Elizabeth have rescheduled the Tale of Two Cities tour to April 2021, in response to Covid-19. Jeremy has worked up a new itinerary with some options to extend your stay and go onto Scotland if you wish. Please check back for updates.

The cost of the Tale Of Two Cities Tour will be:

Double Occupancy room: $8500.00
Single Occupancy room $9100.00

Off The Beaten Path Add-On Week:

Single: $3250/ Double: $3500

Total for all three weeks: Single: $12,600/Double: $11,750

A deposit of $3,000 USD is due on sign-up and then you will be invoiced for the remaining payments. The final payment will be due March 1, 2021.

SUNDAY April 11, 2021
Arrival at Hilton Garden Inn Terminal 2 : London Heathrow by 5 pm.
Welcome drinks and dinner.
(Please note you can transfer from any arrival terminal at Heathrow directly into the Hotel. Passengers arriving into Terminals 2 & 3 can walk to the Hotel with ease. Passengers arriving into Terminals 4 & 5 can take the shuttle. Jeremy will be already at the Hotel and can meet you on request. If you plan to arrive the day before Jeremy can organize extra nights accommodation.)

MONDAY April 12, 2021
After breakfast we will be collected by our luxury bus and drive to the Channel Tunnel and transit across to Calais. Proceed to Paris and check in at the Novotel Versailles for 3 nights. Dinner at the Hotel.

TUESDAY April 13, 2021
Today we will have a full day’s sightseeing in Paris. We will have a great view of the major sights and later on we will confirm which places of interest we will visit, but it will include the Cluny Tapestries with the famous Lady and the Unicorn. Dinner at the hotel.

WEDNESDAY April 14, 2021
This morning we will visit the Chateau of Versailles and in the afternoon we will take a haberdashery tour in Paris with a late afternoon class followed by dinner in the City.

THURSDAY April 15, 2021
After breakfast we shall drive to the Royal Chateau de Chambord and afterwards to Chenonceaux and check in to the Auberge du Bon Laboureur for 2 nights. Dinner at the hotel.

FRIDAY April 16, 2021
Today we will visit the amazing Chateau of Chenonceaux spanning the River Cher. Today will be a relaxing day as we can walk to the Chateau. There will be time to stitch today and maybe take a ride out to the pretty town of Amboise on the River Loire. Dinner at the Hotel.

SATURDAY April 17, 2021
After breakfast we will set off north to Caen in Normandy and take the Ferry to Portsmouth back in the UK. Dinner on the Ferry in the first class restaurant. Check into the Mitre Hotel Hampton Court.

SUNDAY April 18, 2021
Today we have a morning at leisure. We will organize an outing somewhere lovely! Dinner at the Hotel.

PLEASE NOTE : New guests will join us today as we have combined the second week of this Tour with the first week of our Off the Beaten Path Tour.

MONDAY April 19, 2021
After breakfast we will take a full day’s tour of the sights of London and will visit the Tower of London and the Crown Jewels. There will also be time for shopping in the ledgendary department store Liberty. Dinner at Mezzet Restaurant at Hampton Court, which is always great fun.

TUESDAY April 20, 2021
We will be collected by our luxury Bus and will visit Knole House in the County of Kent, followed by a tour of Sissinghurst Castle Gardens. Then onwards to the seaside town of Eastbourne and check into the famous Grand Hotel for three nights. Dinner at the hotel.

WEDNESDAY April 21, 2021
Today we will have an easy day and we will have a class with Elizabeth to carrying on with our tour needlepoint projects. Also you can have some leisure time and enjoy being at the Classic English Seaside. Dinner at the Hotel.

THURSDAY April 22, 2021
After breakfast we will drive to the small city of Canterbury to visit the Cathedral which is a World Heritage Site and the oldest and most important Christian structure in the U.K. There will be time to meander round the medieval lanes, and we will make a visit to a craft and needlework store. Dinner at the hotel in Eastbourne.

FRIDAY April 23, 2021
Today we will leave Eastbourne and drive to South East London to see Red House, the iconic home of William and Jane Morris and the centre of the Pre-Raphaelite Circle. William Morris’s artistic contribution has made a huge impact on needlepoint up to the present day. After our visit we will proceed to a hotel near to London Heathrow. Dinner at the hotel.

SATURDAY April 24, 2021
Transfer to London Heathrow for our guests on the Tale of Two Cities Tour to depart to the USA. The tour will continue as Off the Beaten Path.

Our Tour will then continue to Scotland. If you wish to extend your trip and continue with us for another week, please let Elizabeth or Jeremy know. The tour will end on May 1, 2021.

Please note the price includes all meals apart from lunch. We normally have a big breakfast and then Dinner around 7 pm. So a sandwich or scone is normally enough when we make a break. Price also includes all our Needlepoint / Stitching Projects and Airport to Hotel Transfers. All you need is shopping money !

Price does not include airfare, or alcoholic beverages – drinks must be charged to your room account.

We normally run our Tour with a minimum of 10 people and a maximum of 24.
