A Tale Of Two Cities Needlepoint Tour of London & Paris, May 3-16, 2020

Come along with Jeremy and Elizabeth in May of 2020 for a wonderful new adventure! Our Tale of Two Cities tour will take us to London and the glorious South East of England, and then on to Paris and a trip to the ancient Chateaus of the Loire Valley. The tour will include needlepoint classes, unforgettable sight-seeing, fine dining, shopping, making new friends and fun.

The cost of the tour will be:
Single Occupancy Room: $9,100.00 USD
Double Occupancy Room: $8,500.00 USD

A deposit of $3,000 USD is due on sign-up and then you will be invoiced for the remaining payments. The final payment will be due March 30th, 2020.

Tentative Itinerary


Our tour will start at the Mitre Hotel, Hampton Court with our Meet and Greet Drinks followed by Dinner.


After Breakfast we shall be collected by our luxury bus and spend a full day in London visiting the sights.  Returning to the Mitre Hotel for Dinner.


Today we will visit the Royal School of Needlework for a Tour and take a class. There will also be a tour of the Palace with Jeremy. For those returning guests who do not wish to go to the Royal School again, there will be an optional tour of Kensington Palace, the London home of Princess Diana, and we will also visit the world famous Victoria and Albert Museum. Dinner at Mezzet Lebanese Restaurant in Hampton Court.


After breakfast we will depart Hampton Court and head south east into the County of Kent and visit magnificent Knole House, one of the five biggest houses in England. Built in 1455 and containing 52 staircases, it is also the ancestral home of the famous writer Vita Sackville-West. We will then travel on through the beautiful ‘Garden of England’ and arrive for 3 nights at Eastbourne on the south coast. Staying at the sublime Grand Hotel.


After breakfast our bus will take us a few miles to Charleston Farmhouse, the country retreat of the Bloomsbury Group, once home to the artist Vanessa Bell, sister of Virginia Woolf. We will take a tour of the house and after lunch will have a stitching class based on Charleston and Bloomsbury Design. Dinner at the Grand Hotel.


Today will be a relaxed day. You can either have a stitching class with Elizabeth or we will take an excursion to one of the many gardens and houses that are nearby with Jeremy. Or you may just want to relax do your own thing and look at the sea! Dinner at the Grand Hotel.


After breakfast we shall say goodbye to Eastbourne and our bus will take us to the Channel Tunnel where we will transit over to France. We will then travel on to Paris to have an early evening arrival. Dinner at our chosen hotel.


A full day of sightseeing and visits in the magnificent French Capital. Dinner in a traditional French Bistro.


Today we will make visits to the Cluny Museum and to the Au Ver a Soie Silk Fibre company founded in 1820, then there will be time to shop in the heart of Paris. Dinner at the hotel.


After breakfast we will depart and travel in our bus to the Palace of Versailles for a visit of the breathtaking Palace and formal gardens. Then we will travel south west to the Loire Valley. Dinner on our arrival at our chosen hotel.


Today we will visit the Palace of Chenonceau. The most beautiful Chateau in France built on arches over the River Cher a tributary of the Loire River. This was once home to 16th Century Queens and Royal mistresses and has a fascinating French Royal History. Later today there will be time to have leisure time and stitch. Dinner at the hotel or locally.


Today we will visit the town of Amboise on the Loire River. We will have time to visit the Chateau and the tomb of Leonardo da Vinci. (He spent the last 3 years of his life here.) There will be leisure time to take in the typical French atmosphere of this ancient town.


After breakfast we will travel back to Calais on through the Tunnel and stay at our chosen hotel at London Heathrow.


Farewell breakfast. Shuttle to your terminal at London Heathrow for your flights back to the USA.


Please note the price includes all meals apart from lunch. We normally have a big breakfast and then Dinner around 7 pm. So a sandwich or scone is normally enough when we make a break. Price also includes all our Needlepoint / Stitching Projects and Airport to Hotel Transfers. All you need is shopping money !

Price does not include airfare, or alcoholic beverages – drinks must be charged to your room account.

We normally run our Tour with a minimum of 10 people and a maximum of 24.
