Our new Tour will concentrate on the Georgian Era which began when George I of Hanover ascended  the throne of Great Britain and Ireland to the death of his great great Grandson George the IV in 1830. This period of history was called the Age of Enlightenment and saw a great flowering of culture, architecture, literature, music and fashion. It was also a time of turmoil in politics and also the birth of the Industrial Revolution. This shaped modern Britain and it’s vast Empire. Our Tour will explore the Arts and Architecture of this fascinating period.

SUNDAY 16th APRIL 2023

Our Tour will start at the Mitre Hotel  Hampton Court a charming newly refurbished hotel on the River Thames at 5 pm with drinks and a welcome dinner. Where you can meet your fellow guests. (Please note we will meet you at London Heathrow and transfer you to the hotel, we will have 4 nights here.)


After a good nights rest and breakfast. We will travel up to central London on our luxury bus and visit Spitalfields. An  area of London, famous for it’s Huguenot Silk Weavers who settled here. We will see various sights including Wren’s masterpiece St Paul’s Cathedral.  (Actual  visits to be confirmed.) On the way back to the Hotel we will take a scenic route to see some of the sights of London. Dinner at the Hotel.


After breakfast we shall visit Kew Palace in the world famous botanical gardens. The smallest of the Royal Palaces and the former home of George III and Queen Caroline and their  15 children. The Palace reflects the intimate personal lives of the Georgian Kings. We will then visit the Gardens and the huge Palm House.  Afterwards we will drive back to the hotel via Richmond Park. Dinner at Mezzet in Hampton Court a very popular Lebanese restaurant that we have been to on our tours many times before.


Breakfast and then off on our bus down to Brighton on the south coast, a typical English seaside town. Today’s visit will be to The Royal Pavilion a seaside retreat for the decadent Prince Regent who became George IV built in the Indian Moghul style, it is a mad fantasy of a building. Afterwards take time to wander around Brighton’s famous  ‘Lanes’  tiny streets crammed with shops and also the huge promenade overlooking the English Channel. Early dinner in Brighton or back at the Hotel.


Breakfast and then check out of the Mitre Hotel. Today we head south west away from London to the county of Hampshire known famously for Jane Austen, one of the most famous Georgian writers. See her house at Chawton. Then we will travel on to the nearby ancient city of Winchester where she is buried in the medieval Cathedral

From here we will drive through glorious southern English countryside to the City of Bath. Check into the Macdonald Bath Spa Hotel for 3 nights. Dinner at the Hotel.


After breakfast we will have a full day exploring Bath Built for pleasure and a wellbeing destination since Roman Times. Visit to the Roman Baths built in 60 AD when the city was known as Aquae Sulis. We will take a walk around the stunning crescents and squares of this Spa city crafted in Bath stone. Taking in the major sites including the  Assembly Rooms  and the Fashion Museum. You will also have time to shop in the fashionable streets. Dinner in the city.


Today another full day in and around Bath, there is so much to see here starting with a trip to the Holburne Museum a beautiful art gallery located in Sydney Pleasure Gardens. Also famous for being the setting for the home of  Lady Danbury in the Netflix drama Bridgerton.  Also on today’s itinerary is a visit to the American Museum and Gardens just outside the city. Dinner at the Hotel.


After a leisurely start we will check out of our Hotel in Bath. Today we will drive north east through the Cotwolds an area of stunning villages. Making stops on the way.  Check in to the Woburn Hotel in the small Georgian town in Bedfordshire north of London for 3 nights. Dinner at the hotel.


Breakfast and then from Woburn north to visit Chatsworth House the stately home of the Dukes  of Devonshire in the Derbyshire Dales. Also know as the Palace of the Peak. It has repeatedly been named as Britain’s favorite stately home. It is a jewel of Architecture. Dinner at the Hotel.


Our full day stitching retreat at the Woburn Hotel with our teacher Nicola Jarvis who is Royal School of Needlework trained. Dinner at the hotel.


After breakfast we will leave Woburn and visit Blenheim Palace the birthplace of Sir Winston Churchill the ancestral home of the Dukes of Marlborough. Afterwards travel  the short distance to Oxford where we will stay at the beautiful Randolph Hotel in the center of this historic University city for 2 nights . Dinner at the hotel.


A full day in glorious Oxford. Visiting the Ashmolean Museum just across the road from the hotel. Also famous sites such as the Bodleian Library , Radcliffe Camera and just generally admire the sights in this fascinating compact city. Champagne  Afternoon Tea at the Randolph Hotel.

FRIDAY 28th APRIL 2023

After breakfast you will have time to explore Oxford further and we will visit the Pitt Rivers Museum the anthropological museum of the University of Oxford. Late afternoon we will transfer to the Hilton Garden Inn Terminal 2 at London Heathrow. Dinner in the hotel and farewells.


Guests fly back home to their various locations.

A deposit of $3,000 USD is due on sign-up and then you will be invoiced for the remaining payments.
The final payment will be due January 15, 2023.

Price includes all meals apart from lunch. We normally have a big breakfast and then dinner around 7pm. So a sandwich or scone is normally enough when we take a break.

Price also includes all our Needlepoint/Stitching Projects and Airport to Hotel Transfers.
All you need is shopping money!

Price does not include airfare, or alcoholic beverages – drinks must be charged to your room account.

We normally run our Tour with a minimum of 10 people and a maximum of 24.
