On a country road in Kentucky, a weathered metal mailbox glints dully in the sun, marking the gravel driveway leading to Sandy Arthur’s rambling cedar shingled house. The droning of bees fills the surrounding gardens. Bright orange and black viceroy butterflies visit the garden, and ladybugs call it home.
Sandy calls it inspiration
“I live in the country, and I love everything to do with nature. When I see things that fascinate me, I try to interpret those into some kind of design,” she said.
A teacher first and foremost, Sandy designs needlepoint pieces for her students. Garden Magic Chatelaine, a collection of four pieces, is designed to teach a variety of techniques, stitches and threads.
