Editor's Column

I am so lucky because I get the chance to talk with you at the beginning of every issue. This time I would like for you to know a little more about our talented staff.

John Lukomski, our Chief Financial Officer, just loves to work with your money. He grew up in Buffalo, New York, and was educated at the University of Buffalo and did his graduate work at the University of Virginia. He enjoyed a long career in commercial banking and retired as a Vice President from Bank of America. John enjoys salt water fishing, a little golf and playing the violin. We are fortunate to have him handling our finances.

Sarah Bennett, our Circulation Manager, is the friendly voice you probably hear on the other end of the line when you call the office. Sarah does a million things, but mainly keeps us running smoothly on a daily basis. She spent her early years in several southern states, but settled in Virginia where she completed her education. She is active in pursuing Celtic culture and is a member of the St. Andrew's Society of Richmond. Sarah has a talent to work anything mechanical and what a help that is to this "mechanically challenged" editor.

Sara Ann Cohen, our Promotions Director, grew up in Greensboro, North Carolina, where she attended the Women's College of the University of North Carolina. She continued her education at Richmond Professional Institute and then "retired" to rear her family. She is active in civic affairs and needlework groups. She is the current President of the Southside Virginia Chapter of ANG. Sara Ann has a warm and friendly nature and a quick wit. These attributes make her the perfect director for all of our advertising.

John Linthicum is not only our Art Director but also our "computer guru" who has the magic touch with these temperamental machines. His credentials cover all bases and make him ideal for this job. While in college, John ran a printing press and then moved into prepress work. Later he became a mechanical artist and Macintosh LAN Manager for the ninth largest bank in the country. He has been a Technical Consultant and freelance Art Director for the past four years.

Janice Archer, our data entry expert, is a whiz at the computer. Her father had a career in military service, so she grew up living around the world and speaks "parts" of several languages. She has a loving and generous spirit and is always doing something wonderful for the elderly. Working with Janice is always a pleasure.

Joyce Lukomski
