What an experience you have given us with your incredible response to our call for your Pieces of Eight projects! Your stories, letters, photos and information came from everywhere and we were really overwhelmed. We wanted to show them all, but that would take a tome. So, we added FOUR EXTRA PAGES to accommodate as many as we could. You so inspired me and touched my heart. Let me share a part of one letter "I joined the canvas class to use up my threads. Pieces of Eight was perfect. The blocks were so much fun that I couldn't wait to begin the next one. Midway through, I decided this is something to wear, not throw on the sofa. It would have to go on my back and I needed something for the front as well. I could fill the octagons with my favorite embroideries. As a charter member of the Suncoast Chapter of EGA I am excited about celebrating our 25th Anniversary. Wouldn't this be a perfect way to show what EGA means to me? The vest I made of ivory rayon satin with the wrong side out. I washed the front sections of the congress cloth to make it more pliable before stitching. I used 161 threads and worked a variety of needlework techniques," said Cicely Post of Seminole, Florida. Her teacher, Jo Anne Hermann added "Cicely is such a delight to have in class. She is hearing impaired, but that doesn't slow her down at all! Cicely just couldn't stop with 25 octagons. She has incorporated all of the needlework techniques she learned during her 25 years as a member of EGA. Her vest will be one of the highlights at our 25th anniversary party in September." There are seven pages of your accomplishments shown inside this issue. We will show many of these, and some of the ones we were not able to use, in coming months on our Web page. Your response lets us know that you enjoy sharing your work with others. We have taken note and will offer other gallerys for sharing in future issues. We continue to grow and to learn and so appreciate all of your input, suggestions and interest.

We realize that many of you live in two places and we have software that will accommodate both addresses. Please let us know six weeks in advance and tell us when you change residences. Please give us six weeks notice also when you move. It really takes that long in some cases to get all the way through the system. Thanks for your help.

Don't you love our cover by the newly discovered and most talented Charlotte McDonnell? I grew up in Petersburg, Virginia in a residential area that had a wonderful park. The big bandstand looked almost like our "And Band Played On" project and working with this story brought back so many memories. We know that many of you have been waiting for the final installment of Marianne Frost's "Seasonal Delights" and we are happy to present "Summer" in this issue. As promised, we also feature the second installment of the beautiful and wildly popular "Aurora Borealis 2001" by Marnie Ritter. We aim to keep your stitching needles busy.

We are working on many things for the future and think you will be pleased. Please stay in touch. Let us know your suggestions and tell us what you think about the articles. Reading your hundreds of letters from "Pieces of Eight" made me feel so in touch with you and it was a joy. Thank you.
