About Us

Needlepoint Now is published in Elmira, Oregon by E B Design and Publication, Inc. Joyce Lukomski started the magazine in 1999. Now in its eleventh year the magazine strives to provide information on new trends in the needlepoint industry.

Publisher: Elizabeth Bozievich is a graphic designer who has worked on many publications and ad campaigns. A stitcher since she was eight she now lives her dream of running a magazine devoted solely to the art of needlepoint. When not designing or stitching she can be found riding her bicycle with husband Jay or playing with her three standard poodles, Madeline, Reggie and Shawnee. Elizabeth works with writers and advertisers gathering material for the magazine.
Credo: “Life is short, do your stitching first.”

Assistant Editor: Ann Blalock, aka “Stitching Fool” is a Carolinas girl, born and bred in South Carolina and a resident of North Carolina her entire married life. In her part of the country, if your passion for a particular pursuit overwhelms your common sense, they say you are a fool. Ann has been embroidering with words and threads since early childhood. She supports her stitching habit by working as the Manager of Consumer Information for Coats and Clark. Ann’s job is to work her magic on the copy to make Elizabeth and all the writers look smart.
Credo: “Life is short, misery is optional.”

Circulation Director: Laura Bowman came to Needlepoint Now’s studio shortly after the magazine arrived in Elmira. The studio was a mess with boxes everywhere. Elizabeth was disorganized and really had no idea what she needed help with. She just knew she needed help desperately. After a fifteen-minute interview Elizabeth knew she had found the perfect Circulation Director. Although she does not stitch (yet!) Laura is a supporter of the arts and serves on many art councils in the Veneta/Elmira area. Laura’s job is to answer inquiries about subscriptions, advertising and wholesale and to handle the thousand and one little details that crop up daily in production and distribution of the magazine.
Credo: “Do unto others as you would want done unto you.”

Graphic Designer: Eric Erno is a native Oregonian with a degree from Oregon State University in Marketing. When he isn’t in his studio working you can find him out on the lake on his sailboat. Eric’s job is to manage the web site, develop marketing materials, assist with layout and production of the magazine.
Credo: “Twenty years from now you will be more disppointed by the things that you didn't do than by the ones you did do. So throw off the bowlines. Sail away from the safe harbor. Catch the trade winds in your sails. Explore. Dream. Discover.”- Mark Twain

Graphic Designer: Jean Rubel is an avid stitcher who recently found that she enjoys charting stitches on a computer almost as much as she enjoys stitching them on canvas. Jean’s job is to interpret the designer’s directions and create all of the beautiful charts in the magazine. She is also the final set of eyes for proofing the magazine.
Credo: “The work of my hands is the joy of my heart.”

Chief Financial Officer: Jay Bozievich grew up with a mother, grandmother and stepfather who stitched so it just made sense that he married a stitchaholic. He has been putting up with Elizabeth’s needlepoint obsession for 29 years with minimal complaints and lots of support. He is the man with the checkbook and we worship him. In his other life he is an engineer for the local utility company and part time politician. Jay’s job is to keep track of our funds and bring stability and calmness to our somewhat hectic work schedule.
Credo: “You are responsible for your own happiness.”
