Nun, Gimmel, Hay or Shin, spin the dreidl - you may Win! "Nes gadol hayah shom" means "A great miracle happened there." This embroidered three-dimensional dreidl is an accurate Hanukkah ornament. A child's toy, spun for a game, it is an important historic symbol of the drops of lamp oil that burned for eight days and nights over 2000 years ago.
This three-dimensional embroidery is worked entirely in silver braid and lined in silver lamé. Stitches include a unique woven star of David, a dutch cross stitch variation, rhodes stitch, long-armed cross stitch and continental (tent) stitch.
