the Editor...Has it really been a year? The old adage is "time flies when you are having fun," and I guess that is true. What a great joy it has been to edit and present this publication to the stitching world! Some dreams do come true and we appreciate your warm enthusiasm and strong support. Exactly one year ago we launched our premier issue and the rest, as they say, has been history. Thank you. Only one year later we are bulging at our 40-page borders to bring great stitching projects as well as articles of interest and education.
We are pleased to introduce two new features. "Profiles on Personalities" will introduce us to some of the people who share our passion. We will learn a little more about them and their accomplishments and contributions to needlepoint.
A second new feature is "Tiny Treasures." From time to time we will present small projects that you can make up in just a few minutes and use for yourself, small gifts for friends, for table favors and door prizes in stitching groups.
We enjoy hearing from our subscribers and many have called with the same questions. The first is "when do I renew my subscription? I don’t want to miss a single issue." Some of you didn’t want to take a chance and already mailed in renewals. Many of you renewed when we had a chance to meet and visit at the needlearts seminar in Callaway Gardens this winter. Renewal notices have been mailed to everyone whose subscription ends with this issue. No subscriber will be removed from the mailing list until they have had time to respond. We will continue handling renewals in this manner. If you want to check your own status, look at your mailing label. There is a number in the upper right-hand corner. This number is the last issue of your subscription. (Example: if the number is 20000304 it means the first 2000 is for the year, and the 03/04 means the March/April issue.)
The second question is "when do you mail? I don’t have my magazine yet." We print six times a year, at the beginning of January, March, May, July, September and November. Issues are mailed in the middle of those months. Please give your book enough time to travel. We have the best postal system in the world, but sometimes it has its problems and magazines are not delivered as quickly as we feel they should be. Within the United States, give the magazine at least four weeks to arrive from the date of mailing. Most of you will receive it well before that time. If you are in Canada, please allow six weeks and other international subscribers need to allow extra time. See the information below on mailing.

We have so many wonderful projects planned for presentation this year. In future issues look for an exciting design taken from a quilt pattern, ,an ethnic stitchery, an adorable calico kitty, more hearts to stitch in various needlework techniques and lots of other exciting offerings that will entice you to pick up that needle and start stitching! Of course, we will be completing the popular "Pieces of Eight" with the next several issues. Thank you for your interest and calls on this project. We appreciate hearing from you and like to know the types of projects and features you enjoy seeing in the publication. If you haven’t taken a look at our web page recently, we invite you to do so. You will be surprised with what you find. This is only the beginning of many wonderful things that are planned for you in the future. Tell your friends and be sure to join us at www.needlepointnow.com.
